We’ve all seen those really intense ads about working from home that demonstrate the opportunity to go to work in your underwear. Yes, you can go to work in your underwear if that’s what suits you, but don’t misconstrue that with only putting in the time that you’re comfortable working in your underwear. When you work from home you essentially tend to work harder or longer than many traditional jobs when first get started. This doesn’t mean it is not completely worth it.
You still get to place your feet on your desk and work comfortably. This is assuming that you can turn off the tube, let the members of your family know your office is off limits during work hours except if there’s blood and an ambulance on the way, and that you don’t allow the dog’s fitness crisis to tear into so much time that you lose a quality client. His vet visit might merely mean that you are working soon into the night than usual.
There is the natural added benefit of being able to pick your own hours in major cases. Thus, if you are a night owl and aspire to work from 2 in the afternoon until 1 in the morning, you have that luxury.
A nap or a middle of the day pup-walk can really juice up your enthusiasm for working at home from your laptop. A few work hours in the playing field can be beautiful. Sometimes you might empathetically take off to a diner for a few hours in order to work from a new location, and you realize you take pleasure in people coming in and out.
We can’t forever get extra hours for extra pay when we work a traditional job. Yet when the excitement is on those who live and work in the same place tend to be able to turn up their own fire. They can take on more projects and grab up a few more clients to pull in that extra money that is desirable for the next month.
